  1. Bulletin Board: Single or TakenSubmitted by Cassie Elefante, University of New HavenI took red and white bulletin board paper and I put half of each on each side. I used fun heart border and put that on (anything will work though!). I then cut out letters that said "single or taken" in different colors. I cut out of felt a zig-zag line and I put that in the middle of the red and white paper. I put the single on one side and taken on the other and the "or" in the middle. I then found two poems for valentine's day each appropriate for single or “taken” status. I pasted them on fun paper and put them up. Then I cut out big circles and little circles... On the little circles I put funny pick up lines (i.e.: "My name's Right... Mr. Right" and "I've been whomping my willow thinking of you all day.") and on the big circles I put fun things for them to do. For the single ladies, I put fun things to do with their roommates/friends, like watch horror films, have a secret admirer Pollyanna (all your single gals put your names in a hat and draw names the week before V-day... all week you leave each other notes and candy and then on V-day give each other something fun like cute pencils or hair ties and then you guess who your secret admirer is). For my taken ladies, I gave them cute and cheap date ideas (like picnic in the park, explore downtown, etc) and I also gave them a “Sadie Hawkins" approach telling them to ask guys out saying you'll swing the popcorn if they swing the tickets! A lot of my girls LOVED the ideas! I paired them with paper doilies for $1 for a 20 pack, put their names on it in calligraphy and put them on their doors and they loved it! Everyday I put up a new circle and they seem to really enjoy it! I see them reading it all the time. It makes my day! See picture next slide…
