Summer 2018 Programs Solvay Elementary • SMART CAMP – July 9-26, 2018 Solvay Middle • Inquiry U – July 9-26, 2018 • Fifth Grade Literacy Program – July 9-26, 2018 Solvay High • Biology Institute June 25-29, 2018 (data counts toward last year) • Phys. Ed Repeat • Regents Review • Recreational Activities • Art Camp • Band Camp

Summer Activities • 135 students have already met the target of 30 hours. • 252 students are currently registered for the grant. • Registering students at all orientations and open houses. • BASCOL has filled all 50 slots and has a waiting list. • Budget has been approved for 2018-2019 • Dana Pietrowicz has begun work as our Recruitment and Retention Specialist. • Solicitation of programs has gone out and a calendar of 6 week blocks has been drafted.

  4. 2018-2019 School Year • Programming begins October 1st • Afterschool programs will run in 6 week blocks at SES and SMS. BASCOL runs continuously. • Morning programs will run continuously since transportation is not provided. • SES will now provide free breakfast and lunch for all students. This eliminates the need for the district to buy morning snacks. • Expand Partnerships – met with SUNY ESF and will also look to Town of Geddes for some recreational programs. • Stronger ties to Regular School Day Curriculum • IncreasedHomework Help • Increased building level feedback via meetings with instructional providers

  5. 2018-2019 (con’t) • Increased Professional Development • Additional field trip opportunities • Addition of clubs (Teach Solvay, Middle School GSA etc.) • Begin branding the program with a name and corresponding advertisement • Scheduled Advisory Meeting dates November 29th – 11:00 a.m. March 21st, 2019 – 11:00 a.m. June 6th, 2019 – Time TBA

  6. Staffing Changes • SES – Sue Rivito will take over Melissa Boileau’s site coordinator spot. • SMS- no changes • SHS – Keith Lasher is now overseeing the Early College High School grant so he will sit on this advisory committee and run occasional recreational programs. • Lisa Earle has taken over for Tanesha Cameron Cole overseeing Promise Zone and FSSS • Dana Pietrowicz has been hired as the Recruitment and Retention Specialist.
