  1. Noah Did All That God commanded him, so did he! Gen. 6:22

  2. If you had been Noah Would you have done all that God commanded you?

  3. Noah was concernedabout Pleasing God… • Because Noah knew that we only have • This short life to prepare to meet God. • God doesn’t want anyone to perish… • 2 Pet. 3:9 • Yet, when we are taken from this life, • We will meet God in that condition. • Heb. 9:27

  4. If you had been Noah “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Heb. 11:7

  5. If you had been Noah # 1 ..Would you have found grace in the eyes of the Lord ?

  6. “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord” Gen.6:8 Gen 6:9 asv “These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, and perfect in his generations: Noah walked with God.” “righteous” = “just” in KJV He was a man who with convictions , would not bend but stayed firmly doing God’s word.! “Walked with God” = to please God, devoted to God Did not walk with wicked men

  7. Beware of whom you walk with … • 1 Cor. 15:33. Be not decevied..evil • Communications (associates) corrupt • Good manners (one’s life)! • Though Noah had to put up with the • Ridicule of the people who did not believe God…Noah knew whom He served!

  8. “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Heb. 11:7 • Noah acted by FAITH: • No sign a flood was coming • Never been a flood • People did not believe it • Instructions given 120 years before • Are you walking with God ? • Is your life righteous ?

  9. If you had been Noah # 1 Would you have found grace in the eyes of the Lord ?

  10. If you had been Noah # 2. How would you have reacted to the Job to be done ?

  11. No indication that: • Noah made excuses • he argued with God • Said this is too hard • Get someone else What about us today? How many Make excuses, argue with what God says in the Bible, talk about ‘this is too hard’ (John 6:60), or Want God to get someone else To do HIS work!

  12. So many today don’t go by God’s pattern… • Are you willing to listen, obey God, and • Do exactly as God says in His Word?

  13. Suppose that Noah…. Started the job then quit (Lk. 9:62) Are you like that? Got discouraged (Heb.3:12) Not going to finish (I Cor. 15:58) Or…. I’ve already got a boat Let me remodel it!!

  14. Noah’s Task was not Easy ! God requires us to do things that are not easy. Matt. 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

  15. Our Task is not alwayseasy! • Put God first…Matt. 6:33 • Live right 24/7…Phil. 1:27

  16. If you had been Noah # 2 How would you have reacted to the Job to be done ?

  17. If you had been Noah # 3 .Would you have been satisfied with the Lord’s Plan ?

  18. Suppose Noah had his own Ideas… • Change the size • Use another kind of wood • Add a door on each floor If some people of today had been Noah they would have figured out a better way (in their minds) of doing it.

  19. Can’t improve on God’s ways God has a plan of salvation: Hearing - Faith, Repentance, Confession, Baptism God has a plan of Worship: Sing, Pray, Give, Teach, Lord’s Supper (Our Series) God has a plan of Church Organization: Elders, Deacons,Preachers,Teachers

  20. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Tim 3:16, 17

  21. Noah built the ark Just as God commanded! Genesis 6:22 (ESV) 22 Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. Deut. 12:32 NKJV “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.” 2 John 9 - abide in the doctrine Rev. 22:18-19 Not to add or subtract

  22. If you had been Noah Would you have been satisfied with the Lord’s Plan ?

  23. If you had been Noah # 4. Would you have been satisfied with Only the 8 being saved?

  24. 1 Pet. 3:20Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. • Is that all Lord? • We have been working over 100 years… • What about my friends ? • Could we bring just a few of my relatives?

  25. Too Late !

  26. Who are the LOST? • First let’s look at who are not lost? • Infants, small children and others who are mentally unaccountable to God are not listed among the lost. • They are not able to discern right from wrong. Sin is not sin until it has been committed. John said, “Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.” (1 John 3:4 ESV). • Small children and infants have not transgressed God’s law and are not sinners. They are in a safe condition.

  27. Who are the lost? • The most vile and wicked people on earth are lost • Gal. 5:19-20 • I Cor. 6:9-11 • Rev. 21:8

  28. People who are “morally good” and trust in their morality alone to save them are lost. • 1. People on Pentecost. Devout and religious…yet told to repent and be baptized. • 2. Saul. A believer in God, he was conscientious ,but was lost. Acts 22:16 • 3. Cornelious. Acts 10:1,22;11:14. Devout, feared God, gave alms, prayed…but he was lost.

  29. The Bible teaches that people who are in religious error are lost. • Matt 15:8,9 “This people honoreth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men.” • Mtt. 15:13 “..every plant which my heavenly Father planted not, shall be rooted up.

  30. Unfaithful members of the church who will not return to the Lord are lost!. • Lk. 8:13 Some children of God ‘for a while believe ,and in time of temptation fall away.” • Heb. 12:15 ..looking carefully lest there be any man that falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness spring up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled. • Lk. 9:62

  31. What happened to the people during the flood? • LOST…. Where were they? On the outside ..couldn’t get into the ark where there is safety… • They were drowned!!!

  32. Where will the lost be forever? • What does it mean for one to be lost eternally? • 1. A place of torment. Lk. 15:23 • 2.”Where the ‘worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Mk. 9:43-48 • 3.A place of ‘wailing and gnashing of teeth. Mtt. 12:42,50 • 4. A place of ‘everlasting fire. Mtt.25:41 • 5. A lake that burneth with fire and brimstone. Rev. 21:8

  33. Please listen to me thismorning… • 1. To those who have never been baptized for the remission of your sins: • John 8:24 “Except ye believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins!”I Pet.3:21 • 2. The voice of the rich man who died and lifted up his eyes in hades…”Have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip his finger in water, and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.” Lk. 16:24

  34. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13, 14 • Many will be lost • Few to be saved Noah took no consolation in seeing them lost. It was their decision to not obey!

  35. What decisions • are you and I • making in • view of eternity.? 2 Cor. 5:10

  36. God desires that all menwill be saved…. • 2 Pet. 3:9 • But, not all men will be saved! Why? • Because MEN will not listen and do • What God tells them to do to be saved! • Acts 9:7 Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? Why won’t people ask, and then do • What the Lord wants them to do?

  37. “Do you believe that only the members of the church of Christ are going to be saved?” We are going to be judged by the Word John 12:48 “…the same shall judge him in the last day.” “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:16 How can you be saved without doing that by Which you are saved?????

  38. If you had been Noah Would you have been satisfied With those who were saved?

  39. What is my attitude Toward what God Has told me to do ? This determines if we would have done what Noah did ! It took FAITH on the part of Noah ! It takes FAITH for us to obey God today !

  40. If you had been Noah • Would you have found grace in the eyes of the Lord ? • How would you have reacted to the Job to be done ? • Would you have been • satisfied with the Lord’s Plan ? • Would you have been satisfied with those who • Were saved??
