Facts • Art heists are the third highest criminal money making crime, behind only drugs and arms trafficking. • $6-8 billion per year • Art crime funds all organized crime, including terrorism • Quebec: On September 4, 1972, the Montreal museum of fine arts was the site of the largest art theft in Canadian history, total of $2 million at the time (approximately $10.9 million today)
