Flemish Qualifications Framework • fitting the Flemish Qualifications Framework in the 8 levels of EQF •  refining the “educational stairway” – also partial certificates • assuring validation of competences on the labour market •  recognition of competences acquired earlier and outside education •  Syntra, Centers for Partime Education, …(Decree on Learning and working) • “Secondary Education” with professionial orientation (ASO/BSO/TSO/KSO) • validation of qualification: mainly level 3 (accordance with economical sectors)  former “extra years” of secondary education • level 4 (admission to level 5 formations) • “Higher Professional Education”: strong labour market orientation • level 5 (example: teacher with no former qualification on higher level) 2008: Decree Relevant educational structures and levels of qualification Part-time education SeNSe HBO5 3

Introduction to Leonardo Lyceum CDO 5 5 • Leonardo Lyceum CDO • Students: 393 • Teachers: 50 • Vocational trainings in the field of electricity: • (Assistant) Electrician residential electricity • Electrician industrial electricity • Installer domotics • Installer alarm installations • Duration of the trainings: • Modular system duration depends on the pupil

Introduction to Leonardo Lyceum CDO 6 6 • EQF-levels that can be attributed to the trainings: level 3 • Companies we co-operate with: • Cegelec • Electro WGB • Electro Zwijzen • Imtech • Vormelek , VEI • Ratio of theoretical vs practical classes: 30/70 • A total of 13 workshops (so called ‘ateliers’) at LL CDO • 1 atelier for all 4 electricity trainings • No international experience yet.

Introduction to SCVO Nijverheidsschool • SCVO – Nijverheidsschool • 90 teachers • 800 adult students • 54 different vocational trainings • In the fields of elektricity we offer: • Elektrician for domestic installations (EQF-3) (520=192T+328P) • Elektrician for industrial installations (EQF-3) (720=204T+516P) • Technician for domotica (EQF-3) (640=252T+388P) • PLC-technician (EQF-3) (580=300T+280P) • Maintainance technician (EQF-3) (940=384T+556P) • Graduate elektro-mechanics (EQF-5) (1320T) 7
