People check for rental property in various places, so it is important that you promote your property in a multiple of places as well. Here are five best places to find tenants. Promote or list on Rental Websites The internet is a best place to reach the masses. Sites such as kijiji.ca, Circlapp.com permit you to list your house, flats or rental property based on places or location, making it easily searchable. Circlapp.com also lets you post a free listing, which can be seen anywhere in the world. In addition, there are many sites which are state-specific where you can advertise your property. CIRCL, for example, currently targets to top cities of Canada. You can do an online search to get a site that specially targets to your particular area.

  2. Create Social Media profiles to Find Tenants Millions of people use social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Twitter etc. If you have a business or company, you should create a business pages like Facebook page and a Twitter account for it. If not, use your personal Facebook or Twitter account to let audience know you have a house or property for rent. You can list your property ads or update post on Facebook.com marketplace, on your account, or send out a tweet to your followers via Twitter. Advertise in Print Media Many people search for rental properties in the newspaper. Plan to advertise on the weekend, and specially, on Sunday because this is day when newspapers see the most traffic. You will need only few extra features about your property stand out in crowd, so make them count. Use short terms for words like bedroom (BR) and washer/dryer (W/D) to save space. Advertising in the newspaper will cost money, but it is another way to increase publicity for your property in local market. Advertise on Local Bulletin Boards Place flyers in the area where your house or flat is located. This will include every place where people can reach like bulletin boards at grocery stores, churches, Laundromats, and bus stops. Since flyer attract people quickly, use a bold headline and large, color photographs to make crowd interested in flyer. On the bottom of the flyer, include the property address, the number of bedrooms and your contact information so that people can contact you. List Your Property with a Realtor in Your Area Contact to local brokers, but brokers typically charge a commission of about half or one month’s rent, sometimes more. You may want to talk two or more realtors to find the one you are most comfortable listing your rental with. While this may be the most expensive way to promote your House, it can save you a lot of the difficulty and headache of dealing with prospective tenants.
