Here's what Jeff thinks the tech sector will bring us in 2021 Each year, I like to take an appearance at the big picture and anticipate what's just around the corner. Longtime readers of my work know that I follow the most exciting tech patterns on the brink of mass adoption. These patterns are experiencing exponential growth and creating unbelievable opportunities for financiers. 5G Gadgets Our new 5G (fifth-generation) cordless networks are a subject I have actually been covering for years now. Although the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted supply chains in 2015, an impressive 250 million 5G-enabled devices were still offered. Especially in the second quarter, there were supply chain disruptions, making hold-ups, and work blockages. And all of this ultimately led to Apple delaying the release of the 5G-enabled i, Phone 12 by 2 months. When you consider all of that, offering 250 million systems is amazing. More notably, the delays brought on by the pandemic created a lots of suppressed need. Which demand is now going to be pushed into 2021. In reality, I anticipate that more than 500 million 5G gadgets will be delivered in 2021. Stage 3 of 5G When I have actually talked about 5G in the past, I've explained its three different stages. In Stage One, the infrastructure of these new networks is built out, including all the new towers and fiber-optic circuitry that 5G will need. In Phase 2, 5G gadgets go on sale. And in Stage Three, 5G services begin to be offered. That's when we start to see applications running on 5G networks. And my 2nd 5G prediction for 2021 is that we will start Stage Three by this summer season. However they will care if there are amazing applications that can only be accessed with a 5G phone. So more and more consumers will go out to purchase a 5G phone to access these applications. That causes more 5G apps being developed. In fact, 5G is going to open a suite of extraordinary applications: self-driving automobiles, the Web of Things, robotic surgical treatment, and more. The financial investment chances going forward will be enormous. CRISPR Genetic Editing Stepping away from 5G, the next essential innovation I foresee in 2021 is CRISPR hereditary editing. It's one of the most interesting advancements in biotechnology.
