  3. Concept of VTP VTP (VlanTrunkingProtocol) • It is a Cisco proprietary protocol. • VTP carries VLAN information to all the switches in a VTP domain.

  4. Benefit of VTP VTP gives you the ability to monitor the VLAN database on switches. Therefore you save the time and cost for maintaining VLAN.

  5. VTP advertisement • Are sent every 5 minutes. • inform VTP enabled switches of the current VTP configuration number. • are sent immediately after configuration changes.
