  3. Phase 1: General Population in Lothian >18 Years • What general public know about our services – GP, OOH, A&E, minor injuries, pharmacists etc. • Quantitative Survey of Adults living in the Lothians – face to face interviews >1000

  4. Phase 2: Self Referrers to A&E • Why here? Aspects of service e.g. open access, free medicines “full service/one stop shop • Why now? Advice from other sources e.g. GP/NHS24/chemist etc. • Qualitative/Quantitative Survey self referrers in A&E >18, 100 hours of face to face interviews

  5. Phase 3: Being Designed • Qualitative ?in-depth telephone or face to face or focus groups • Starting from a blank sheet - how could our services look different? • What do you want to see put in place?

  6. Phase 4: Intelligence – what we know already • Hard facts on usage/users of A&E • Research on “appropriateness of attendance” • NHS surveys A&E in RIE 2006 and 2007
