  6. QUESTION-3 What is the total distance covered during this trip? Speed mph 8 6 4 2 Time (hours) 1 2 3

  7. QUESTION-3 What is the total distance covered during this trip? Speed mph 8 6 (8 x 2) + 6 = 22 4 2 Time (hours) 1 2 3

  8. QUESTION-4 During a five hour bike ride, Carl again collects speed -time data and graphs it below. What is the total distance Carl traveled during this ride? 12 10 8 6 4 2 0 5 1 2 3 4

  9. QUESTION-4 During a five hour bike ride, Carl again collects speed -time data and graphs it below. What is the total distance Carl traveled during this ride? 12 10 8 6 4 2.5 + 3 + 10 + 2 + 6 + 5 = 28.5 2 0 5 1 2 3 4

  10. QUESTION-5 The time during which a body has a constant increase in velocity is called a period of acceleration, and the body is said to be accelarating. What are the periods of acceleration for the two trips discussed above? 12 10 8 6 4 2 0 5 1 2 3 4

  11. QUESTION-5 The time during which a body has a constant increase in velocity is called a period of acceleration, and the body is said to be accelarating. What are the periods of acceleration for the two trips discussed above? 12 10 8 6 4 2 0-1,3-4 0 5 1 2 3 4

  12. Speed mph 12 10 8 8 6 6 4 4 2 2 Time (hours) 1 2 3 0 5 1 2 3 4 6) What are the periods of deceleration for the two trips?

  13. Speed mph 12 10 8 8 6 6 4 4 2 2 Time (hours) 1 2 3 0 5 1 2 3 4 6) What are the periods of deceleration for the two trips? 3-4 and 4-5

  14. STUDENT ASSIMENTS

  15. Acceleration • When an object's velocity changes, it accelerates. Acceleration shows the change in velocity in a unit time. Velocity is measured in meters per second, m/s, so acceleration is measured in (m/s)/s, or m/s2, which can be both positive and negative.

  16. Consider the graph given in the last exercise above. What property of the line from (0,0) to (t,v) corresponds to acceleration. • As the speed increases .The time takes decreases too.because of this the acceleration also increases ,so these lines show the acceleration of car

  17. 2) Write an expression that relates acceleration to velocity and time.RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN a,v and t a=v(r)/t In here there is a directly proportion between and v,there is a not directly proportion between v and t also a and t. As the a increases v gets higher and t gets lower.

  18. DISTANCE FORMULA3) Use the information obtained from the exercises above to find a formula for distance traveled during a period of constant acceleration. v.t v.t/2 v.t/2 Distance=speed.time

  19. The sprinter(distance/time) 4)A sprinter can cover 100 m in 10 about seconds. Sketch a speed/time graph of how you think a 100-meter sprinter might run the course.

  20. 5) Assume you can run a 5-mile in 25 minutes. The course is over level ground. Sketch a speed/time graph for your race distance time
