COURSE GOALS • Mastery of essential writing and language skills • Integrate reading, writing, speaking, and listening
COURSE GOALS • Every student has been given an Elements of Language text book that is to be kept at home for the 2012-2013 school year.

Google Docs • free access to Google Apps for Education for all of our students • utilize web-based word processing • allow students and staff with Internet access to collaborate with their peers and faculty members in real time, regardless of their location • no longer need to be in the same place when working on group or collaborative projects. • "closed" domain, limiting the ability of students and staff to collaborate with individuals who are not affiliated with NASD.

Writing Journals • Spiral notebook given to each student • All classwork is completed in notebook • Graded
English Packet Collected at the end of the 9 weeks
Homework • Majority of writing is completed in class • If classwork is not completed, it needs to be finished at home • Short practice pages • Homework on in-class chalkboard takes precedence over web site • Problem with homework-send a note via e-mail or the assignment book

Assignment Book Procedures: • 1. All subjects should have something written in space • 2. If no homework, write none or N • 3. Date on top of assignment book for the day in pen • 4. Notes from parents should be shown to teachers, teacher will initial if they saw the note • 5. No scribbling, tearing out, or white out in assignment book. Line through unnecessary information only • 6. Use only a Pen in assignment book
