Also, to help TVA plan for the data transfer. (Test Plans) Test Cases Data Requested from TVA ORNL’s ongoing accountability is to facilitate the understanding of the RATC team’s request inside TVA and shepherd the transfer of data. Data Supplied by TVA Data Accepted by RATC

  5. RATC: Data Management Process ILLUSTRATIVE The RATC team is reviewing each of the Milestones & Deliverables and identifying specific TVA data requirements.

  6. RATC: Data Management Process • Test Plan Data Elements • Purpose • Test Case Catalog • Approach • Test Set-Up Needs • Schedule • Acceptance Criteria • Roles and Responsibilities ILLUSTRATIVE The RATC team is developing test plans to define the context for test cases. Test plans are reviewed by ORNL.

  7. RATC: Data Management Process • Test Case Data Elements • Name and ID of Test Case • Milestone or Deliverable • Requirement • Preconditions • Input test data • Variations • Steps • Expected results ILLUSTRATIVE From the test plans, the RATC team develops Test Cases which enumerate specific TVA data elements needed and tie the test to a specific milestone or deliverable. ORNL reviews the test plans.

  8. RATC: Data Management Process • ID • Milestones & Deliverables (M&Ds) • Test Case Number(s) • Test Data Brief Description • Test Data Requested from TVA (date) • Test Data Supplied by TVA (date) • Test Data Accepted by RATC (date) • Comments ILLUSTRATIVE From the Test Case descriptions, ORNL shepherds data transfers, statuses all data requests, and facilitates resolution to any discrepancies.

  9. Summary • ORNL provided 60 comments and suggestions during QA reviews of 5 documents during the quarter. • ORNL began executing its newly-defined role in data exchange. • The RATC team is communicating its needs to TVA in a more structured manner. • TVA will have a ready line-of-sight between the RATC team’s requests for data and the Milestones & Deliverables driving the requests. ORNL’s re-defined role is serving the purpose of facilitating interactions between the academic and industrial communities.
