Overview of Market Trials • Two External market Trials • Each Has Day Ahead and Real-time Market Component • ICAP Market Trial in MT #1 Only • Real-time Market Trials scripted according to an 80/20 rule: • 80% normal conditions • 20% non- normal conditions (e.g. OP-4) • The Day Ahead / Real-time Market Trial will contain three 24 hour operating days based on 14-May-2002 generation / transmission conditions adjusted to simulate different system conditions • Each Trial begins with FTR Monthly Auction and ends with publication of an Electronic Bill • Market Trials are a test of systems and processes and not of the validity of the Market Design
