  2. A drug is something that affects your body. Not all drugs are illegal. Drugs like cannabis, ecstasy and cocaine are illegal. But many are legal like alcohol, headache tablets, cigarettes and glue. Some legal drugs can only be given out by doctors, like tranquilisers. What are drugs?

  3. What are Class A, B & C Drugs? • Class A drugsThese include heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and LSD. All are illegal. • Class B drugsThese include amphetamines such as speed and barbiturates. • Class C drugsDrugs in this category include, cannabis, tranquillisers, valium and anabolic steroids.

  5. Facts & Myths of Drugs Myth-It's all because of peer pressure, they're forced into it by their friends. Fact-Young people may use drugs because their friends are using them. This does not necessarily mean that they have been forced, pressure can be in the form of many guises, such as curiosity.

Facts & Myths! • Myth-If the police got rid of all the dealers hanging around the school gates, then we wouldn't have a problem. • Fact-Many young people are introduced to, or sold, drugs through friends and acquaintances. • Myth-Once you start taking drugs, there's no getting out of it. • Fact-There are different types of drug use. Some people use drugs occasionally and do not experience major problems. Not all drugs are physically addictive.
