  4. [Important] • Only Cayin Authorized Resellers are allowed to perform the procedures in this document. You may violate the warranty if you disassemble Cayin’s product without permission.

  5. Notice • Before you disassemble an SMP player • Wear antistatic gloves to prevent damaging components • Carefully use a screwdriver and not to harm the surface of PCB • All connectors must be plugged in the correct direction

  9. Disassembly Steps DISASSEMBLYSMP-WEBPLUSPLAYER Unscrew Case Remove Hard-Disk Drive Remove DOM & DRAM Remove Power Supply Remove Motherboard Finish STEP 1 STEP 2 STEP 3 STEP 4 STEP 5 STEP 6

  10. Unscrew Case • Unscrew top case and open it.

  11. Inside Player • Motherboard • DRAM & Disk-on-Module (Store system firmware) • Hard-Disk Drive • Power Supply

  12. Remove Hard-Disk Drive (1) Unplug the IDE cable and the power connector (1, 2, 3) Unscrew four screws and remove the HDD bracket from the product case

  13. Remove Hard-Disk Drive (2) • Unscrew HDD from the bracket • You must set HDD to master for using it in SMP-WEBPLUS

  14. Remove DOM • DOM (Disk-on-Module) locates besides DRAM • Remove it gently from IDE connector

  15. Remove DRAM • Press 2 DRAM latches and remove it from the socket

  16. Remove Power Supply (1) 1 2 • Press the latch and pull up the connector • Unplug ATX power connector

  17. Remove Power Supply (2) 3 4 • Unscrew five screws then you can remove power supply from its place

  18. Remove Power Supply (2) • Unscrew five screws; then you can remove the power supply

  19. Remove Motherboard (1) • Remove front panel connector

  20. Remove Motherboard (2) • Loose the 4 screws at 4 corners of the motherboard • Remove the motherboard from the box

  21. Disassembly - Finish

  22. Installation-Wall Mount • Beware of the ventilation when you install player; don’t block air circulation • SMP-WEBPLUS equips wall-mount kit to let you mount the player on the wall or behind the screen

  26. Remove Upper Case • Slide the upper case backward to open it.

  27. Inside Player • DRAM • HDD and HDD racket • HDD upper rack screw

  28. Remove CF and HDD • Release the HDD rack screw, you can remove HDD upper rack from the base • The firmware Compact Flash Card locates beneath the HDD • Remove CF card by dragging it in the direction of arrow

  29. Remove HDD from Drive Bay • Unplug IDE cable and remove HDD from the box • Unscrew four screws around the upper rack and remove HDD • You must set HDD to the slave mode

  30. Remove HDD Rack • Unscrew those 4 screws around the HDD rack

  31. Remove DRAM • Push DRAM’s latch to unlock DRAM from socket.

  32. Inside Player • You can unload the rear panel by unscrewing it in two sides.

  33. Remove Motherboard • Gently remove the motherboard by sliding it in the right direction.

  36. Remove Power Supply (1) • Product package • Model and package information • Serial number sticker

  38. Remove Box • Take out the box from the package carton

  39. Remove Cover • To remove the upper cover, you must unscrew four screws on the top and bottom.

  40. Inside Player • After opening the top cover, you will see (1) Slim HDD (2) Firmware flash (DOM)

  41. Remove HDD (1) • After removing HDD and rack, you can release HDD screws from rack. • To remove HDD and the rack from the box, you must release four screws in four corners.

  42. Remove HDD (2) • You must set HDD to master for SMP-WEB3/ PRO3/ WEB3N/ PRO3N

  43. Remove Firmware DOM • To remove the firmware flash disk (DOM), just unplug it from the IDE socket

  44. Remove Motherboard (1) • To remove the motherboard from the box, you must release 4 hexagonal screws from the VGA and COM port connectors.

  45. Remove Motherboard (2) • Release 4 screws around the corners and remove the motherboard from the case

  47. Product Serial Number andLicense Key

  48. Serial Number • Serial Number is very important to communicate with Cayin • You can find Serial Number on Carton and Product Box • The initial 2 letters is product model: • SW: SMP-WEB • SP: SMP-PRO2 • WP: SMP-WEBPLUS • WE: SMP-WEB3 • PR: SMP-PRO3 • CM: CMS server

  49. License Key • When you recover the system or replace the system flash memory, you will be asked to enter the Key in first start up. • You can find the product license key on the rear panel of the product. It combines 8~10 digits.
