  1. Why would you need to build an intranet on Teams? Sometime back when customers started asking if it was possible to build an intranet inside Teams it was thought of as a bad idea. But since then with the advancement of technology, a lot has changed, as there is teamintranet software and other apps that can be used along with new and more sophisticated developer tools for Teams. If your organization uses Teams, then it can be seen that people are spending less time on email and a lot more time on Teams. Moreover, the Covid-19 crisis has led to an accelerated and mass adoption of Teams mainly because of Microsoft’s free Teams license during the crisis. Creating an intranet in Teams may seem like a no-brainer but it’s worth considering since Teams has great appeal for a desktop-using, office-based workforce. In case you’ve got a mobile workforce you need to work smarter and harder for good levels of intranet adoption, or you may need to look at a separate tool to reach them, like a mobile intranet or employee app. Secondly, Microsoft has invested heavily in the improvement of Teams and in pushing it out to the market. Teams has become Microsoft’s fastest ever adopted tool with over 44 million daily active users since the last year, March 2020 by application of this twin strategy. Hence digital workplace professionals want to extend the capabilities of Teams within their own organization, as they feel confident that Teams is only going to get better and better via Microsoft’s own roadmap. The third reason why customers are interested to build an microsoft intranet in Teams is because they want to save on costs and effort. Mainly since ‘citizen developers’ with only moderate technical skills are now able to create and work on all types of apps, intranet pages (built with SharePoint communication sites) and workflows (built with Power Automate). Teams seem like it would be pretty easy and quick to build something with its structure of channels, apps, and tabs. Better together It is an established fact that Teams should not be used as an intranet. It is a valuable tool designed by Microsoft to enhance and work together with an intranet. Each Microsoft Team is paired with a Modern SharePoint team site, when integrated with SharePoint, and all the files corresponding to it are contained within the site’s document library.
