  4. Free dissemination • Recognition that statistics are a public good • Free dissemination started 1 October 2004: • Single exception is micro data access for researchers • Impartial access for all users • All statistical domains • Over 4500 datasets • All publications on website

European Statistical Data Support • Over 15 000 requests/year • Commercial companies = 35% • Students and academicssector = 35% • Eurostat’swebsite: over 3 million visits/month • One of top 5 mostvisitedEuropean Commission websites • 450 000 PDF downloads/month • 1.1 million datasetdownloads/month
