  3. Consequences of the power structure view • DEMOCRACY The assumption of rational agents, aware of their interests, does not hold. Power structures can make us choose against our best interest. • ETHICS We are responsible for the power structures we are a part of. The ‘membership’ can be as subtle as buying a product on the market. • FREEDOM AND POWER A person whose power comes from power structure is neither free nor powerful. • INFORMATION AND CULTURE Tradition as cultural evolution is no longer reliable.
