In a workshop led by Stephen Cary, an expert in second-language acquisition, the importance of making academic texts accessible for ESL learners was highlighted. Cary noted the challenges these students face with textbooks designed for native speakers. Our group collaborated to address how to implement five key recommendations for improving text comprehension and emphasized the necessity of peer collaboration among ESL students. By sharing strategies and insights, we aim to enhance understanding and support their academic success.
