  1. Welsh Rugby Union By Amie Roberts A Brief History… Achievements… The Six nations Rugby was first brought into Wales in Lampeter College in the mid-nineteenth century. However, it was actually the first team, selected by Richard Mullock which lead us to what we now know and love to be Welsh Rugby Union. It was then this team that faced England to lose spectacularly, with what would give a score now of 82 – 0! Luckily for Wales, the scoring system isn’t what it is now. In 1999, the first home of Welsh rugby, the Arms Park was replaced with what we now know as the Millennium Stadium, which plays host to all of the Wales home games. • 24 Outright wins • 10 Grand Slams • 19 Triple Crowns The World Cup • Wales have played in every World Cup since it started in 1987, although they have never won it. Their best achievement was placing 3rd in the 1987 World Cup. • The best position they have achieved in the IRB World Rankings Table has been 5th, which was back in 2005. • Wales now rank 8th in the IRB World Rankings, not bad for such a small country! Did you know? Wales have won 322 games out of a total of 628 matches. That’s 51.27%!
