  12. Christian Discipleship • The reason he sinks, everyone says, was because Peter takes his eyes off Jesus. Isn’t that what everyone says? They say he looses faith in Jesus. • But that’s conventional wisdom. What everyone thinks. And what did we learn earlier about conventional wisdom from the Apostle Paul?

  13. Christian Discipleship • “…Do not conform yourselves to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

  14. Christian Discipleship • When Peter sinks in the water, he sinks because he looses faith in himself • Jesus doesn’t sink…He had faith in Peter, that he could walk on the water…Peter sank because he lost faith in himself that he could be like the Rabbi.

  15. Christian Discipleship • To be a disciple, is to be like the rabbi… to do what the rabbi does… • And who is our rabbi?

  16. Christian Discipleship • He wants us to have faith in him, but he also wants us to know that He has faith in us. To be a disciple, is to be like the rabbi, to do what the rabbi does.

  17. Christian Discipleship • And so today, may you come to believe in God all over again. But may you come to believe and know that God also believes in you. • May you have faith in Jesus…our Rabbi…But may you also come to know that Jesus has faith in you.
