  3. The selected area The rock, Sri Pada or Adam’s peak situated in Sabaragamuwa province

  4. Day 1 We went to Sri Pada with, • 4 captains • 2 parents and • 42 guides on the 4th of April 2009

  5. On our way…..

  6. We had our lunch on the way to Sri Pada

  7. At the rest….. We got two large bed rooms for the guides, one for the captains and parents. We had a rest at the rooms.

  8. Briefing the project Miss Priyanthi and Miss Sanjeewani had quick discussions about the aims of the project with us

  9. The aim of the project To have a clean environment around Sri Pada mountain

  10. The bags we made….

  11. Implementing the project Joining with the Police of Sri pada and the “Samanala” youth society

  12. The polythene bags of the pilgrims were replaced with cloth bags at the foot of the peak

  13. Day 2 • The pilgrimers returned the cloth bags in the morning • Then we started our journey at about 10 in the night

  14. On our way up….. We passed two places where we had to do rituals which people practiced in early days

  15. On the top of the mountain

  16. On our way back….
