  2. It all starts with Lena and Haar • We began the course with the Haar Transform and the picture of Lena.

  5. Haar Transform Histograms • We look at the histogram of the resulting images and we adjust the images in order to compress the range of brightness and exaggerate the details.


  6. Using thresholds • We then looked at the Haar transform when using a threshold. If the coefficient exceeds the threshold, we mark the pixel in pure white. Lena, Binary Haar Threshold 1.0

  9. Absolute value Haar transform (no offset) • We look at Haar transforms using the absolute value. We then proceed to exaggerate the results by multiplying the coefficients by a scalar value. Lena, Absolute Haar Scalar Multiplier 1.0
