  2. Events in 2005 and 2006 • 10 Free Public Lectures • 13 Workshops for teachers • Eight on site workshops; One at the AMNH • Four Field trips • Three in New York State • One week long trip to Wyoming

Lectures for the Online Public • Providing lectures through the IDEAS web site: • Continuing the tradition begun in the Spring of 2005, Ron Chalmers has made the IDEAS public lectures available on the IDEAS web site. Thus far, there is a total of SIX past IDEAS lectures available on the web at • http://www.Hofstra.edu/IDEAS/ /IDEAS_Pastvideos.cfm

  4. Collaborations • Donations to IDEAS made possible the free public showing of the IMAX movie…Aliens of the Deep at the Cradle of Aviation; Joining us was Maya Tolstoy. • A Scholar-in-Residence grant from the Provost’s Office made possible our work with Dr. Rob De Salle at the AMNH.

Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities (SENCER) www.sencer.net • National Center for Science and Civic Engagement is a national initiative of NSF; • Bringing faculty teams to San Jose, CA for four days of workshops and conversation designed to promote undergraduate science education experiences that engage college students in local and global connections to their work.
