  15. POVERTY

  16. 1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world) • 640 million have no adequate shelter • 400 million have no safe water • 270 million have no access to health services • 10.6 million died in 2003 before reaching age 5 (Anup 2009)

  17. Half the world lives off $2.50 a day 80% of humanity lives of $10 a day Shah, Anup. "Poverty Facts and Stats." Global Issues. 22 Mar, 2009. Web. 26 Feb 2010. <http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats>.

  18. Reaching the Poorest “In more than a third of the 63 countries for which such data were available, more than 30% of young adults have fewer than four years of schooling. Nineteen of these countries are in Africa; the remaining three are Guatemala, Pakistan and Nicaragua.” [Unknown, Economist (London, England) Vol. 394, No. 8666 Jan 23, 2010, p. 58]

  19. A billion people entered the 21st century not knowing how to read or sign their own names (Anup 2009).

  20. Without family planning Poverty will spread across the globe “In Congo, 600,000 babies a year are born only to suffer and die. My husband and I despondently call these precious little ones ‘the born to dies.’ This year, 8 million children worldwide will die before their fifth birthday, which is actually an improvement from recent years.” “When a woman can regulate her fertility, it affects not just the number of children she has, but also the timing and spacing of those kids, who benefit from their mother's better health, time, attention, and having a greater share of scarce resources.” (By Ashley Judd,USA Today, Nov 10, 2009, p. A.11)

  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJuOrb2hFt8 Have you ever thought of a person in need?

  22. [Chorus]People killin', people dyin'.Children hurtin', even cryin'.Can you practice what you preach, and would you turn the other cheeck?Father, Father, Father, help us. Send some guidence from above. These people got me, got me, questionin' where is the love?(where is the love, where is the love, where is the love, the love, the love) [Black Eyed Peas]What's wrong with the world, Mama?People livin' like they ain't got no mamas.I think the whole world is addicted to the drama, only attracted to things that bring the trauma.Overseas, yea, we trying to stop terrorism, but we still got terrorists here livin'in the USA, the big CIA, the blood through the cripts of the KKK.But if you only have love for your own race, then you only leave space to discriminate, and to disciminate only generates hate, and when you hate you're bound to get r-ate.Madness is what you demonstrate, and that's exacly how Enga works and operates.Man, yagotta have love to set it straight.Take control of your mind and meditate.Let your soul gravitate to the love, ya'll.[Black Eyed Peas]It just ain't the same.Always have changed, new days are strange. Is the world the same?If love and peace is so strong, why would pieces of love that don't belong?Nation's dropping bombs, chemical gases filling lungs of little ones, with ongoing suffering as the youth die young. So, ask yourself, is the lovin' really caused,so i can ask myself really what is going wrongin this world that we livin' in.People keep on givin' in, makin' wrong decisions,-acap
