  3. What is Wi-Fi Direct? • Wi-Fi Direct is a new wireless specification by the Wi-Fi Alliance • Allows Wi-Fi devices to connect to each other without the need of an Access Point • Slated for mid 2010 release

  4. Wi-Fi Direct Features • Software-based Access Point • Wi-Fi Direct connections will work at typical Wi-Fi speeds and range. • Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) Security • Make device-to-device connections with existing 802.11 a/g/n devices • One-to-One or One-to-Many

  5. Wi-Fi Direct Features • Aimed at Consumer and Enterprise electronics • Pre-association discovery • Simultaneously connect to both a Wi-Fi Direct and standard Infrastructure network
