Directorate of Students Welfare • The Director of Students welfare is a Statutory Officer of the University as per the KSUA 2000. • The Directorate of students welfare is the supporting service of University of Mysore • The DSW provides accommodation to the students who are admitted to the PG & UG courses of the University of Mysore.

  8. To support the DSW there is a Chief warden for ladies hostel and faculty adviser for each hostel for smooth functioning of administration.

Activities • Attending the Academic and Personal problems of the Students in the Hostel. • The students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities such as literary, and cultural competitions. • University level inter- collegiate Cultural competitions are also conducted every year. • The winners of inter- collegiate will be taken to Zonal/ National and International youth festivals. Events in Cultural & Literary Competitions in South Zonal, National Zonal and International Zonal levels: • Dance • Music • Theatre • Literary • Fine Arts

Arranging Special Coaching Classes for SC/ST, OBC & deserving students in Hostels to improve Proficiency in English. • An Orientation Programme called “Know your Campus” is organised in the beginning of the Academic Year. a) The University b) Campus Life c) Health facility d) Library facility e) Examination system f) Creative Skills g) Career Development etc.

The DSW also conducts debate competitions in associations with Karnataka state co- operative department and Indian Associations of parliamentarians on populations and development, New Delhi also from the District Administration. • The DSW plays a major role in organizing National Celebrations like Independence Day, Republic Day etc.,
