  1. Understanding the Parts of You That Hold Pain – and How to Heal Them At Cherry Creek Therapy, we believe that healing begins with compassion—for all parts of you. If you’ve ever felt conflicted, stuck, or like you’re constantly battling with yourself, you’re not alone. Emotional pain often comes from parts within us that are trying to protect us—but without the right support, those parts can keep us feeling trapped in patterns of anxiety, shame, or disconnection. That’s where Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy comes in. What Is IFS Therapy? Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps you explore your internal world. Rather than viewing yourself as one unified “self,” IFS sees your inner experience as a system of “parts”—each with its own voice, emotion, and role. Some parts carry pain, like trauma or grief. Others are protectors that try to keep you safe by shutting down emotions, avoiding relationships, or overworking. Through IFS, we help you gently connect with these parts, understand their purpose, and heal the wounds they carry. Why You Feel Stuck Maybe a part of you wants to grow and connect—but another part fears vulnerability because of past hurt. These inner conflicts can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or frozen. IFS helps resolve those conflicts by honoring every part of you, especially the ones that have been ignored or misunderstood. How Healing Happens In therapy at Cherry Creek Therapy, we create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can: ● Identify the parts of you that hold pain or fear ● Understand how those parts developed and what they’re trying to protect ● Build trust with your internal system ● Release burdens and feel more calm, grounded, and whole When you build a relationship with your internal world, true transformation becomes possible. Go Beyond Surface-Level Coping We don’t offer surface-level “fixes” here. Instead, we guide you toward lasting change using IFS, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) for couples. Whether you're working through trauma, anxiety, or relationship wounds, we help you reconnect with your core self—the one that’s always been there, ready to heal. Located in Denver, CO, we offer in-person and online therapy designed around you. ? Ready to understand your inner world and start healing? Let’s talk.
