  1. Social Investment Model – Fair Chance Fund Darren Gleed – Head of Tendering

  2. Internal Challenges • Understanding of social investment • Risk management – both for the programme and investment model • Agreeing the social investment model (e.g. direct investment vs. SPV) • Scrutiny and sign off processes • Treasury – banking convenants • Timescales • Costs – intermediary, legal advice, interest rate

  3. External Challenges • Competing interests of intermediary • Limited range of investors, each with specific criteria for investment • Investor due diligence – differing data and credibility requirements

  4. Home Group Model • Home Group as the lead provider with subcontractors commissioned to deliver specific elements – reduction of due diligence requirements for partners • Direct Investment to Home Group with 100% risk transfer to the investor – no SPV • Phased repayment from Q2, aligned with income generated from outcomes

  5. Future Social Investment • Lower interest rates and charges due to our experience • Value of social investment as an income source for our Care and Support Services • Funding of integrated health services
