  4. Existing Initiatives • P1904.1 (“SIEPON”) Compliance PARs • Three compliance PARs approved by NesCom and SASB • P1904.1 Approved for Working Group Ballot • P1903 (“NGSON”) Became an Approved Standard • Next meeting will co-locate with GLOBECOM 2011 • Collocation at ICC 2011 pre-empted by Japanese disaster • P1900.4a Became a New Standard • P1900.7 PAR Approved by SASB • A confidential observation… • P1907.1 (Real-Time Multimedia) PAR Approved • Alex and Curtis, with supporting IEEE SA Staff, attended • the first meeting; collocated with September IEEE SASB meetings • P1900.5 and P1900.5.1 PARs poised for NesCom consideration • in October • P1900.5a must wait until later in the standards cycle 4

  5. Hot Stuff • New Appeal • Against CSSB, in the context of P1905.1 PAR • Prior Appeal was brought against P1905.1 Chair • Appellee Reply Brief tendered 14 September 2011 • Over 300 hours of Siller’s time • With IEEE SA-funded legal support • Appeal Panel Hearing scheduled for 5 September in • Piscataway • A new P1905.1 complaint lodged 13 September 2011 by same • Appellant.. 5

  6. Familiar Stuff • On-Going Effort to Resolve Bylaws Impasse • Hosted “Standards Reconciliation Summit” • ComSoc Headquarters • Attended by: • ChandNaresh (Chair, North Jersey Section), Tarek • El-Bawab (Chair, TAOS), Rob Fish (Secretary, CSSB), • Stefano Galli (MAL, ITU G.hnem Chair), Alex Gelman • (Vice Chair, CSSB), Jack Howell (ExDir), Curtis Siller • (Chair, CSSB) • Separate Reports prepared • Little progress toward reconciliation of differences; much shouting • My view: • Much ado about little • TC Liaisons are invited; they participate - when they’re interested • Everything is working fine • TC interest is exaggerated • Misunderstanding: CSSB role is mostly about “process” • TCs cannot be recognized as SA entities 6
