Kenya ICT sector • In 1998 Government instituted telecom reforms and introduced competition in certain market segments • Separation of roles in sector management( TKL,CCK,PCK) • Creation of multiple operator environment- liberalization • Reduction of government operation role in the sector- privatization

Kenya ICT sector • Since launch of sector reform, Kenya has made great strides in the expansion of telecoms services • Fixed lines (300,000 ) • Mobiles lines( over 6 M) • Internet Service providers ( 73 licensed, 16 active) • Internet users • Broadcasting stations ( 16 Tv stations, 24 Fm stations • SNO, 3 rd mobile operator?
