  2. Overview In total, the CMS Pixels would like to have 3 Siemens S7-300 Systems: • 1 installed at P5 to be used by BPix + FPix for the Engineering Run and final Detectors • 1 installed at TIF to be used by FPix for Commissioning at CERN • 1 installed at SiDet to be used by FPix for Commissioning at Fermilab

  3. P5 System

  4. Remarks on P5 System The P5 System consists of: • 2 Relay • 1 Digital Input • 1 Analog Input • 32 RTD Modules The Modules are mounted on 5 Rails, hosted in a CERN 19” Rack

  8. Remarks on Cabling Rail 1 • Relay • Digital Input Modules connected via Terminal Blocks • Analog Input Module can be connected as for SiTracker Rails 2 – 5 • RTD Modules can be connected in a modular way: A Pair of 2 RTD Modules gets Input from 1 (72-wire) Field Cable, Connected via a 78-pin SubD Connector From the 72 wires, 4 wires need to be feed into the HMX Conditioning Board. We propose 4-pin “Burndy” connectors for this purpose. The other 64 wires are split into two groups of 32 wires each, That are connected to 40-pin Hirose connectors

  18. TIF and SiDet Systems

  19. Remarks on TIF/SiDet System The TIF/SiDet systems are foreseen for Commissioning of individual FPix Half-Cylinders (one Quarter of the whole FPix Detector) Because only a Quarter of the FPix Detector (and no BPix) needs to be controlled at a time, less RTD modules are needed for Detector Control than in the P5 system. On the other hand, 2 additional RTD modules plus 2 Analog Input modules are needed to control the Cooling-Box that keeps the Half-Cylinders at -10oC during Commissioning. So, the TiF/SiDet Systems consist of: • 1 Relay • 3 Analog Input • 6 RTD Modules The Modules are mounted on 2 Rails
