  5. What would you do with an extra $1,500 dollars? Many Whatcom County Tech Prep students earn 10-20 college credits during high school at a tuition savings of $930 - $1,800 *$93 per credit average for WA State Community or Technical College programs

How does TECH PREP work? • Enroll in a TECH PREP class at your high school – in fact you may already be enrolled in one today! • Check list of classes at your high school & register today at www.whatcomtechprep.org • Pay one time $25 fee (WCC) or earn FREE credits at BTC • Work hard and get a ‘B’ grade or better!

Go to www.whatcomtechprep.org - Click on Tech Prep Registration - Choose Students Click Here • If you have registered for Tech Prep in the past (before 2009-2010), you will need your Tech Prep ID number. • if registered during the 2009-2010 school year or after, you will need to know your user id & password. If you can’t remember them, enter your email address & it will be emailed to you.

  10. Registration If you’re a new student select Create An Account at the Tech Prep/SERS home page - fill in all required information on the Create Student Account page It is important that you give us a valid mailing address – college will mail you transcript confirmation at the end of the year.

  11. Registration A valid email address is essential as well. This is how you can retrieve your user id and password. Social Security # is optional -- however, it’s helpful for college to link with your transcript. HOME HIGH SCHOOL = where you regularly attend school

  12. Registration Once you’ve entered all your information into the profile page, select submit. Then choose Register for Classes Make sure you only choose: • High School where Tech Prep class is taught • Teacher (s) you now have Select Go Search and scroll down. A list of class(es) will be available for you to choose. Click on the class you are in & want college credit for.

  13. Registration - Select Register, look over classes you’ve chosen and then select Save & Register Print two copies of your two-page registration form. - Keep ONE for your records. • Before June 12, 2011, submit registration form to Whatcom Tech Prep office (attach $25 check for WCC only) or give to your teacher for mailing. • No college credit granted after June 30. Deadlines are important!!

  14. Registration What happens next? At the end of September, a letter confirming your credit will be mailed to your home from the college that awarded you the credit. Please check the Tech Prep website under Student FAQs for more information on how to order college transcripts. You will need your COLLEGE ID # to access your transcript.
