  2. Definitions – Reporting Framework Mandate - a statement of purpose for a group of individuals to strive towards, usually overarching in nature. Clinical incentives - This is the motivation for the group, if we achieve the mandate we will also achieve the clinical incentives. Outcome indicators - Outcome indicators are the goals we set as objectives of this initiative. They can be binary (done or not done) or quantifiable (X to Y by DATE). Outcome indicators are system level metrics at the marco level Process indicators - specific to identified tasks or processes, process indicators are normally reviewed or used on a daily operational level usually quantifiable system performance. Balancing indicators - Metrics that are monitored to ensure no negative effects from the outcome indicators.
