  3. Profile Rangpuhar literally means ‘a burst of colour’. Begun in 1993 with a vision to showcase the rich and vivid beauty of Indian folk dances at various international Cultural Festivals for children and youth, Rangpuhar continues to splash the world canvas with the vibrant colours of Indian culture. In preserving and promoting the ancient Indian art forms, we train young talent in the various disciplines of Indian folk dances. With careful attention paid to the smallest details of choreography, music and costumes, we orchestrate repeatedly and effortlessly, dazzling glimpses of traditional India to the world audience. A result of many years of undeterred practice that has honed the performers’ skills to perfection, our musicians and dancers take pride in being the ones to connect with the world, the magnificence that is India. At Cultural Festivals around the world, we provide the precious opportunity to hundreds of Indian children and youth to observe and understand other cultures and extensively interact with its citizens. This understanding and interaction builds and strengthens bonds that transcend borders and prejudices. Our faith in this bonding fuels our passion to work harder and create shows that will help in forging and reinforcing cultural ties of India with the rest of the world. www.rangpuhar.com

  4. Cultural & Folk Performing Arts The mere mention of India brings to mind a plethora of sensory delights: pungent spices, splendorous attire, pulsating rhythms and melodies and much more that signify the traditional Indian culture. An integral element of the Indian pageantry is its many dance forms; one of the world’s most exhilarating sensual experiences. A sub-continent studded with varied dance forms, each is shaped by the influences of a particular period and environment. The lofty Himalayas, the fertile Ganges plains, the rainforests of the northeast, the Thar Desert, the bountiful coastline and the tropics of the south have each nurtured their own arts. This diversity and rich multiplicity forms India’s treasure-trove of folk dances. With India’s 1.2 Billion people, an assortment of their regions, languages, sub-cultures, religions and pursuits have lent individuality to their dance forms. Showcasing the lives, the joys and the priorities of the simple rural people, the pristine dance forms have been preserved through the centuries, to become a part of India’s present culture, a living heritage that is both our pride and delight. www.rangpuhar.com
