  1. WebCat Tutorial • Welcome to Hiron’s Library Remote, Goldey-Beacom College’s pathway to research possibilities for distance education students. Even from home or work, there are many different library services available to you. The following tutorial will introduce you to the different services available to GBC’s distance education students and how to use and access them. • The ‘front door’ of the library, the distance education student’s main point of entry is the library web page www.gbc.edu/library, the top portion of which is reflected below: • From the webpage, one can access the library book holdings, the databases, handouts, and ask reference questions. • From WebCat, the Online Catalog, the student can determine what books the library owns and what books would be on the shelf if they chose to come to the library. Why is this important? From the comfort of the easy chair at home, a student could conceivably look up their topic, write down the call numbers of the books available, come into the library and gather them all together, check them out and leave the library in under fifteen minutes. • Here is how it works: • Click on the WebCat link from the Library Home Page. The arrow points to the link. Press or Click Something to Proceed

  3. WebCat Enter title here, click on “search everything”

  4. Library Holdings We have 6 records Click on View

  5. Book Detail The book IS available Use the ENTIRE Call Number to find the book in the Stacks or call 302-225-6245 for help
