APN SS7 (MAP) GRX GPRS Roaming – PLMN Roaming APN: Access Point Name (e.g. ibm.com.mcc123.mnc456.gprs) • GPRS Attachment or MS Registration – SGSN retrieves user data profile including APN from HLR via SS7 and registers the visited MS • PDP Context Activation – VSGSN establishes GTP tunnel with HGGSN; DNS is used to find home GGSN. • Bearer traffic goes though GRX through GTP Tunnel back to home.
