  6. ASSESSMENT: VOLUME OF CYLINDERS AND CONES You work at a museum and are instructed to make a scale model of the cross section of the volcano shown on the back. The model must be as large as you can make it, but still fit inside a glass enclosure in shape of a rectangular solid whose base is a 35 cm square and height is 40 cm.

  7. First determine how many cm³ of brown material you will need for the “earth” and how many cm³ of red material you will need for the “lava”. (Remember, all measurements must be done to scale!) After receiving the requested amount of material, construct your volcano. You must keep a journal that gives a detailed explanation of how you determined the amount of material you needed and how you went about constructing your model.
