  2. Introduction • At Hogwarts , school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter is in search of what or who has been causing these mysterious attacks. With the help of his friends Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley Harry will use magic to save the school. The only problem is that everyone thinks its him that’s doing all of these attacks! This suspicion arose after he spoke to a snake which is a big sign that says you may be that heir of Slytherin . Misled, Harry confronts cautious stares, unfriendly accusations and rumors to worry of but he still pursues his hopes in finding the real culprit that is against non- pure blooded witches and wizards. With his bravery he finds the truth of the Chamber of Secrets.

  3. Protagonist/Antagonist Harry Potter Draco Malfoy Draco Malfoy is the rival of Harry Potter. To many students he is seen as a bully that discriminates against students that are not pure blood. Draco is also in the House Slytherin. • Harry Potter is the main character and hero of the novel. After surviving an an attack as a baby from Voldemort ,the darkest wizard in the world, he became very famous. Harry is also in the House Gryffindor.

  4. Conflict • Students at Hogwarts are in grave danger when discovered on the wall written in blood are the words “ Enemies of the heir beware”. After the students and teachers of Hogwarts have seen this rumors spread that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Harry is a prime suspect . In the pursuit of finding who the real culprit is, Harry and his friends use clues from the history of the last opening of the Chamber of Secrets. With this information they may find the Chamber itself and within it the voice of the attacker.

  5. Minor Characters • Ginny Weasley- Ginny is Ron’s sister, a first year student, and a big fan of Harry. Her character plays a major role at the end of the novel. • Hagrid- Hagrid is very big and tall ;he serves as the Gamekeeper at Hogwarts. Hagrid is also a dear friend to Harry, Hermione, and Ron. • Dobby- Dobby is a small house elf that is abused as a servant by his master. Dobby is very protective of Harry while at the same time destructive to himself.

  6. What Critics Say: • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets captivates the readers attention with its well developed plot .The story contains many shocking points that show J.K. Rowling’s diverse imagination.   7. What I Say • I must say that I agree with both reviews but I also have my own contributions to the greatness of this novel. Rowling’s imagination of magic is very unique and well into the thoughts of fantasy. J.K. Rowling did a great job demonstrating mysterious events which interested me in finding the conclusion. I was especially surprised to find out who held the attacks as it would seem that that character isn’t evil at all. Overall it was a very creative and captivating read that held attention with its brilliant characters, skillful spells, and astonishing outcome.
