The BIG Ideas • To study the history of Michigan, you have to ask questions like: what happened?, when did it happen?, who was involved?, how did it happen? • Events in the history of Michigan were linked together. • Events in the history of Michigan have both causes and effects. • Many different people were important in the early history of Michigan.

  3. As a way of reviewing what they have learned in this unit, we will work together to create a People Timeline. Let’s review the six chronological sections of early Michigan history shown on the timeline.
