  3. 4TU meeting, Budapest, October 10-11, 2014. International relations. Priority – Student (Professor*) exchange Background: Education in 3 (5) languages.** Hungarian. Total 25.000 students, BSc 15.000, MSc 5.000, PhD 500. State financed 17.000. English (since 1980-es). 1.200 (details later) German (since early 1990-es). 2*100. First 4 semesters (electrical, mechanical engineering, informatics, mechatronics) + 5th semester at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. French (since early 1990-es). Under reconstruction. Russian (since 1980-es to mid 2000-es). * Unfortunately we do not have important results in this direction (professor exchange). ** The given number of students is approximate.

English Education (since 1980-es). 5 BSc courses + 12 MSc courses + a list (more or less stable) of additional subjects for local and exchange students. Incoming students* Regular (since1980-es, degree seekers, tuition fee). 300 (Iran, Turkey, Nigeria**). Brazil (Science without Borders, since 2013, exchange students, tuition fee). 400. Erasmus (since 1990-es, exchange students, no tuition fee). 300. (Spain, France, Germany). Others. (with and without tuition fee). 200. New: Stipendium Hungaricum 30 (but there will be 1000s of Hungarian governmental scholarships nationwide). * Approximate numbers / year of students attending at least 1 semester. ** Here and later we give the most involved countries.

Outgoing students Politics: BME would like to preserve its best students for the full training (BSc + MSc + PhD), but we understand that international experience is a „must” nowadays. So university organizes different type of exchange programs from short (1-2 weeks) through medium (1-2 semesters) to long (2 years, 2 diplomas).Financial support is important. Some programs: Erasmus+ (since 1990-es). More than 300 bilateral agreements. 300 academic outgoing student (Spain, Germany) + 100 internships. Campus Hungary (since 2012). Mobility of students in 4 categories: short (less than 1 month), long (1 semester), group visits, internship to any country of the World.* * There are more categories, money for Non-Central-Hungarian Regions. More programs: ATHENS. 14 leading European universities (Paristech /14 grandesécolesparisiennes/, BME Budapest, TU Delft, University of Istanbul, KU Leuven - UC de Louvain, IST Lisbon, UP Madrid, TU München, Politecnico di Milano, Czech Technical University Prague, TU Thesszaloniki, NTNU Trondheim, TU Warsaw, TU Wien, 2*1week courses. Mobility of about 4000 students / year. In academic year 2013/14 BME outgoing 91students, 112 incoming from partner institutions. T.I.M.E.53 member Institutions in 20 countries on 4 continents. Around 5,000 T.I.M.E. Double Degree Alumni. Association Charter (2009). Quality Label Certificate (2010). International Doctorate Charter (2011). Alumni Association (2013). Summer schools. BME 25 outgoing, 2 incoming students. CVTU, TUW, BME members. TUW, BME AC members.

Slovak University of Technology. 14 students / year. (Building and civil engineering, Soil and Water sciences, Geodesy, Cartography, Mechanics and metal work, Manufacturing and processing, Architecture and town planning, Chemistry, Electricity and energy, Electronics and automation, Computer science, Physics, Mathematics and statistics, 2 professors / year(Engineering and engineering trades, Mathematics). TU Wien. 7 students / year. (Mechanics and Metal Work, Building and civil engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and statistics, Computer science), 2 professors / year (Civil engineering, Physics, Mathematics).
