COP CHALLANS MLA FOR VIOLATING COVID NORMS SELFLESS SERVICE OF THE FRONTLINE WORKERS- Ever since the pandemic hit the country the front line workers are working very efficiently to get the situation under control. The doctors and nurses help treat the patients without worrying about themselves. On the other hand, the police department is working to make sure that the general public follow the covid guidelines that the government has laid down. The police department throughout the country is maintaining the order and making sure that people follow the covid norms, irrespective of who they are. But, there are some people who despite knowing the hazards of the disease are very careless. Not only that, there are people who misuse their powers and position to save themselves from the punishments if they violate any rules. Such a case occurred in Uttarakhand in June 2021. MLA VIOLATES THE LOCKDOWN RULES AND MISUSES HIS POWER- Advertisements Mussoorie was under complete lockdown. No person was allowed outside their homes after a certain time which was set by the government. But, if a person needs to be out in case of an emergency they need to wear masks and follow other norms. But on a Sunday evening a cop challaned an MLA for not wearing a mask properly and roaming in the city when the curfew was going on. Around 1 p.m. in Mussoorie, a sub inspector ran into a MLA and his family during the curfew. And the MLA and his family were not wearing masks. The sub inspector Neeraj Kathait then approached the MLA and his family and confronted them about violating the rules. The sub inspector then issued a challan to MLA Pradeep Batra and his family, and also charged them with a fine of Rs 500. Hearing this, Pradeep Batra got very agitated and threw a Rs 500 note towards the sub inspector. This whole incident was captured in a video. Four days later sub inspector Neeraj Kathait was transferred to Kalsi. o o o o o LOCAL PEOPLE STOOD UP IN SUPPORT OF THE SUB INSPECTOR- On this, the Circle Officer, Narendra Pant said that the sub inspector was simply following the instruction and doing his duty. And keeping that in mind an inquiry has been launched. o

  2. As the video about the MLA and the sub inspector’s confrontation got viral, the local people stood up in support of the sub inspector. The Mussoorie Traders Association memorandum to Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, seeking his intervention and stopping the SI’s transfer. o (MTA) even submitted a o “We urge the government to revoke the sub-inspector’s transfer. It was the MLA who was violating the rules,” added Gaurav Agarwalla, president of the party’s Mussoorie unit.
