Aircrew Training Projects • Air 5232 Ph 1 – ACO Training System • Air 5428 Ph 1 – Pilot Training System • Air 5438 Ph 1A – Lead-in Fighter Capability Assurance Program • Air 9000 Ph 7 – Helicopter Aircrew Training System
Training • Air 5232 Ph 1 – ACO Training System • Aim: Provide the ADF with an Air Combat Officer (ACO) and Observer (OBS) training system tailored to meet the training neds of future ADF ACO and OBS aircrew • Scope: Replace aircraft, ANT, SNT and ground training system • Key milestones: • First Pass approval: FY2009-10 to FY2010-11 • Year-of-Decision: FY2011-12 to FY2012-13 • Initial Operating Capability: 2015 to 2017
Training • Air 5428 Ph 1 – Pilot Training System • Aim: Provide Air Force, Army and Navy with a new fixed-wing Pilot Training System (PTS) • Scope: Development of the PTS including training media (aircraft, simulators), curriculum, training aids, manuals and software • Key milestones: • First Pass approval: Complete • Year-of-Decision: FY2012-13 to FY2014-15 • Initial Operating Capability: 2015 to 2017
Training • Air 5438 Ph 1A – Lead-in Fighter Capability Assurance Program • Aim: to ensure JSF requirements are met • Scope: Hawk Mk 127 upgrade, new simulators, enhanced mission planning and debriefing systems • Key Milestones • First Pass FY 09/10 – 10/11 • YOD FY 2011/12 – 12/13 • ISD 2015 - 2017
Training • Air 9000 Ph 7 – Helicopter Aircrew Training System • Aim: to provide rotary wing training to the Navy and Army • Scope: Replace the current fleet of Navy and Army training helicopters with a system appropriate to the contemporary operational types. Training system will include a twin engine IFR helicopter, synthetic training and potentially an Aviation Training Vessel. • Key Milestones • First Pass Completed • YOD FY 2011/12 – 12/13 • IOC 2014 - 2016
