Processing • Attach barcodes, spine labels, label protectors, and date due card (if applicable) • Stamp with school name

Inventory(Automated libraries) • Set the system to inventory mode • Scan the barcode of each item into the system (+) • Run a missing items report • Run a shelf-list report
Cleaning Up Records (Automated Libraries) • Enhance short or brief records. All records must include: • ISBN • Title • Author • Publisher • Date • Format
Cleaning Up Records, cont. (Automated Libraries) • Locate and remove/merge duplicate records. Search for duplicate records by: • running a report and sorting by title, ISBN, and author • review reports for duplicate titles, ISBNs, and authors • compare fields of suspected duplicates carefully before merging/deleting
Cleaning Up Records, cont. (Automated Libraries) • Review records to confirm that the following fields have not been altered, contain extraneous information or spelling errors: • Author • Title • ISBN • Publisher • Date • Format
Creating an electronic catalog(Non-automated libraries) • Sign up for MARC Set Go (retrospective conversion software) training. --Offered once a month with the exception of August • Provide the DLIS with MARC record files provided by book vendors • Use MARC Set Go to enter all other items • Retrospective conversion must be complete one month prior to end-user training
