  • Tuition and fees for the 2011-2012 academic year will rise an average of 4.5%, according to a survey of 429 institutions.
  • Consumer Price Index (Inflation Rate) in the U.S. July 2011 was 3.6%.
  • Thus, tuition for private college outpaced inflation 4.5% to 3.6%.

AUC increases tuition fees for 2011-2012 by 9%.

  • US comparison would be 14.38% increase in tuition for AUC

Consumer Price Index (Inflation Rate) in Egypt for March 2011 was 11.5%.

Therefore, AUC’s tuition increase did not outpace Egypt’s inflation rate.
