More Bennett Trivia Teacher’s hours: 7:30 – 3:00 PM Student’s hours: 8:00 - 2:00 PM Teachers work 196 days per school year Students attend 180 school days Early Release Days: Students are dismissed at 12:00 PM Teacher Planning Days hours are 7:30 –3:00 All teachers get 40 minutes of planning time during the school day and a 30 minute duty free lunch. Teachers must walk their students to and from the Cafeteria each day Each staff member belongs to a Team

  7. MONEY Your first pay date is August 28th You are paid bi-weekly You must have direct deposit Mrs. Pam Maye is your payroll contact. She is Mr. Carney’s secretary. You are given 10 sick days per school year. What is not used is carried over to the next year; this is your “ sick leave bank.” You are responsible to get your own substitute if you will be absent. Mrs. Pam Maye is the Substitute Coordinator. We will go over these procedures in detail 

  8. Professional Meeting Responsibilities A schedule of meetings and school events for each month is on ` the calendar on CAB. There are weekly Data PLC Meetings (Professional Learning Communities) every Friday during your special time. There are biweekly Planning PLC Meetings ((Professional Learning Communities) during your scheduled enrichment time (see PLC calendar). There is one monthly NESS meeting. There are weekly Faculty meeting. You are required to attend all scheduled meetings and expected to be prompt and prepared.

  9. Parent Conferences You are required to return all parent phone calls within 24 hours. You do not have to make these calls at home. You are required to hold two parent conferences each school year and both must be documented on a Conference/Interim Form. There are NO conferences without an appointment. Remember, you are the professional! At any time, you may elect to phone a parent, send a note home or email regarding any concerns or praises you would like to share.

  11. Lesson Plans Lesson plans are a legal document. They are kept at the school for seven years Lesson plans are prepared a week in advance. These plans are checked by your instructional coach and Mr. Carney or Mrs. Jensen. Lesson plans can be done by computer or by hand. Your lesson plans should be a working document. You are responsible to have an EMERGENCY set of Lesson Plans to be kept on file with your team leader.

  12. More on Lesson Plans BES lesson Plans must include: Instructional blocks for Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies List the Standard and Skill/Strategy being taught, DOK Level, Objective of the Lesson, Student Practice & ESOL Strategy

  13. FYI Personal phone calls should NEVER be made from your classroom while students are present. Personal phone calls are not transferred to your classroom during the school day. The clerical staff will put calls through to your voicemail. Parents should not be phoned in front of the students Anytime that you leave campus during the school day, you must get permission from administration and then sign out in the sign out book on Mrs. Maye’s Desk.

  14. CAB CAB ; Communicating Across Broward Every school board employee has a CAB address You are required to check CAB at least twice per day. 99% of all school communication is done through CAB. CAB can be accessed through your home, as well. CAB is a professional tool for professional communication. CAB offers Lesson Plan Ideas ,Professional Development opportunities, Calendars, Content Area Connections, Benefits, Employment Opportunities, and District Bereavements of Immediate Family.

  15. Attendance Attendance is to be taken every day. There are no exceptions. This should never be assigned to a student to do. These records are legal documents . We are responsible for the safety of every child in this building. Every student is someone’s child and we must know where they are at all times. Ms. Thomas is in charge of attendance, she is also the IMT.

  19. Dress Code Policy Every Bennett student MUST wear a uniform every day. The uniform consists of any solid color polo style collared shirt, and khaki, black or navy bottoms . It is the responsibility of every teacher to enforce the Dress Code Policy
