Redistricting Technology Solutions and Access Options

This article discusses the use of Maptitude software for redistricting by State and Local Governments. The software comes with a self-help tutorial and is supported by Caliper. The County Executive Office plans to provide access to Maptitude through the County's wide area network and multiple points of presence within each Supervisorial District. Public access to County facilities will be required.

Software Provided by CEO/IT • Maptitude is an industry leader in providing redistricting software solutions to State and Local Governments. • Comes with built in self help tutorial • Software support provided by Caliper • Hosted by CEO/IT at the Orange County Data Center • CEO/IT will provide network connectivity & server support • County owns Maptitude license • User assistance and additional support to be provided by a firm that specializes in assisting Government agencies through the redistricting process, Contract award is pending (TBD) 2

Constituent Access to Maptitude CEO/IT plans to leverage the County’s wide area network and remote access to provide access to the Maptitude software Multiple points of presence can be established within each Supervisorial District Requirements: Public access to County facilities Facility must be part of the County’s wide area network Example: County Libraries, Hall of Administration Work station must be provided 3
