Sport and Recreation Portfolio • The Government’s commitment to strengthening communities is integral to Growing Victoria Together and A Fairer Victoria. • Within the policy context of A Fairer Victoria sport and recreation plays an important role. • Sport and Recreation Victoria’s five year Strategic Plan - supporting stronger and more active Victorian communities.

  3. Key Achievements 2005-06 • Major Projects and State Facilities • Successful delivery of events including: • World Artistic Gymnastics Championships • Volvo Ocean Race Stopover • Rescue 2006 – World Lifesaving Championships • The State Soccer and Lawn Bowls Centre in Darebin
