Tunnel Springs Rail Trail is located in North Monroe County connecting Tunnel Springs to Beatrice, Alabama. • The Trail is geographically positioned between the Mobile and Montgomery metropolitan areas. • It is in the Heart of Southwest Alabama, which is in need of outdoor recreational trails. The proposed length of the Trail is approximately 6+ miles. • Historic railroad tunnel that spans approximately 500 ft. in length. • Trail possesses three trestles, which span several streams, creeks, and ponds. • Spans rural countryside that has not been accessible by the public. • Opportunity exists to expand trail further to include other outdoor destinations and historical sites.
