  2. CONTENTS • Introduction • Zinwave technology • Zinwavedriving factors • Q & A

  3. Who is Zinwave?

  4. Introduction to Zinwave • In-Building Solution Provider based in the UK, with Plano, Texas HQ, supporting U.S. Sales, Service, System Engineering. With Warehouse facilities in Columbus Ohio. • Unique True Wideband Active DAS solution covering all wireless services between 150MHz and 2.7GHz with a simple modular design based around just 4 components • Rapidly growing installed base across 10 countries, including Airports, Hospitals, Power plants, Government buildings, Leisure, Broadcasting and Sports venues. • Operational systems are all multi-operator capable and support private PLMR, public safety, commercial cellular, 4G, multi-cast WiFi, broadband data service, specialist telemetry and other services

  5. TRUE WIDEBAND Allfrequencies from 150 MHz to 2.7 GHz Scalablefor any size installation Multi-service capability Lowest costper sq foot Traditional Active Passive • Suitable for larger installations • Narrowband optical fiber distribution • Expensive to scale for multi-services • Wideband coaxial cable distribution • Range limited Zinwave New Active Wideband

  6. Zinwave Technology

  7. Unique 3000 System Features • Active Wideband, No Filtering • Multiple Services from VHF through WiMax on a Single System • Low Parts Count – No Service Specific Components – Simple Spares • Multimode Fiber, Single Mode Fiber or a Mix • MMF or SMF with Standard Optical Connectors (APC Not Required) • Single Star, Double Star or Mixed Configuration • Selective Routing of Services • Automatic self calibration (cable loss compensation) • Can carry TDD services along with FDD (Separate Tx & Rx Paths)

  8. RADIO OVER FIBER TECHNOLOGY • The Wideband approach is enabled by: • Core optical technology: high frequency RF over MMF • Installed base of MMF, allowing re-use • Fiber agnostic means MMF or SMF can be used • Wideband active Remote Unit technology • High linearity, high composite power wideband amplifiers • Dual Port antenna design • High isolation (>40dB) twin element in single housing

  9. 3000 Key Components – low parts count Hub (Front & Rear) Optical Module Service Module Central Power Supply Remote Unit - Fiber Dual Wideband Antenna

  10. SYSTEM 3000 ARCHITECTURE Remote Unit Secondary Hub Secondary Hub • Primary Hub feeds up to 8 secondary Hubs • Secondary Hubs feed up to 8 Remote Units • Secondary Hub link is fiber • Remote Unit link over fiber optic cable • All fiber links either SMF or MMF • Single antenna with dual port Primary Hub Signal Sources • Primary Hub feeds up to 8 secondary Hubs • Secondary Hubs feed up to 8 Remote Units • Secondary Hub link is fiber • Remote Unit link over fiber optic cable • All fiber links either SMF or MMF • Single antenna with dual port

  11. Cell-CDMA PCS-EvDO LTE 700 • 4x4 distribution matrix both Primary • and Secondary Hubs • Configurable via the management • system • Enables routing of services into Hub AWS SIGNAL DISTRIBUTION MATRIX Hub RU RU RU 4x4 Dist. Matrix RU RU RU RU RU

  12. 3000 Key Components: Remote Units (RU) Remote Unit • Small Wideband Remote Units, can be wall mounted or placed behind ceiling voids • One unit supports any number or combination of services (VHF - WiMax) • Fiberconnection • Remotely powered (local powering option for) • Configured and Managed via the Primary Hub • Requires Separate Tx and Rx Antennas Compact aesthetic design dissipating only 28W can be installed almost anywhere RU slides into wall mounting bracket

  13. Installation Options • Component Box fits in suspended ceiling frame. • Many suppliers – common for WiFi A/Ps • Antenna mounted on nearby ceiling tile.

  14. DUAL PORT WIDEBAND ANTENNA Zinwave also offers unique dual port Wideband antennas for use with its DAS system: • Small unobtrusive form factor • Ceiling mounted • Omni-directional coverage • Wideband frequency range: • 800 – 2700 MHz • 698 – 2700 MHz (under development) • Unity Gain nominal • Guarantees the required isolation for Zinwave’s wideband system Mounting bracket screws into ceiling. Antenna fixed into place with locking screw. Off the shelf antennas can also be used (with the right spacing) for any specific coverage requirements

  15. Installation Example: Zinwave Dual Wideband Antenna

  16. ANTENNAS THAT CAN BE USED (one each for Tx and Rx) Andrew CellMax-O-CPUSE Omni; Freq: 698 - 960, 1710 – 2700 MHz Mars MA-WOLTE-2X Omni; Freq: 698 MHz - 6.1 GHz Separate the Omni Tx and Rx antennas by 20 ft to ensure 40 dB Isolation

  17. ZINWAVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: EMS • Intuitive, web based GUI – Resident in Hub – NO SEPARATE CONTROLLER • Only Requires a Standard Browser – NO DEDICATED SOFTWARE • SNMP interface from the Primary Hub, for integration into higher level NMS systems • View and manage your DAS systems from wherever you are In-built software into the system elements • No management system controller unit • No management software to install on client pc • No proprietary software required to view or monitor you DAS installations, other than a standard web browser

  18. CARRIER APPROVALS • AT&T – Approved for Network Connection • Tested thoroughly in Independent lab, Bechtel – Passed for GSM, UMTS and Mixed Mode • Verizon – 2G & 3G, 4G Approved, in PeopleSoft • Sprint – Approved for Network Connection • Tested thoroughly in Sprint RAN Labs – Passed for iDEN, CDMA, Ev-DO and Mixed Mode • T-Mobile – Approved, Market Decision

  19. PUBLIC SAFETY COVERAGE • Typical Minimum RF Level Design Requirement is -95 dBm • Much Lower Than -85 dBm to -75 dBm Commercial Requirements • Requires Very Little Power Share in Zinwave Multi Service RU – Essentially add for Free • Public Safety Often Wants Dedicated DAS • Liability Issues • NFPA code Requires Emergency DAS Remotes to be NEMA4 • Because of Low RF Levels, a Parallel Public Safety DAS adds Little Cost to Overall Project When Included with a Commercial DAS

  20. SUMMARY – COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES • Single System All Services • Universal Components = Low Parts Count – Readily Available Spares • Agnostic – Frequency, Fiber, Modulation and Protocal • Scalable: Small Cost Differential – Single Service to Multi Service • Easily Accommodates All Future Carrier Changes & Service Additions • Immune to Band Swaps • No Service Specific Components • Route to Market • Certified System Integrators– experts in in-building RF design and support • Always supported by Zinwave engineers

  21. Zinwavedriving factors

  22. Increase efficiency, reduce costs and improve safety concerns • Commercial cellular communications • Increased mobility • Ubiquitous coverage • Migration/evolution of services • Scalable • Public Safety Communications • Regulatory requirements • Very low power budget required • Almost free on Zinwave Commercial Services DAS • Spectrum Agnostic, Re-Banding friendly • Other Wireless Services • Specialized Telemetry, Data , WiFi, Headsets

  23. Next Steps…… • Become a Zinwave VAR • Successfully participate in A Zinwave Certified System Integrator Training Seminar • Regional Training opportunities available • No Cost for the 2-day class • “Hands on” design and implementation training • Contact your Hutton Sales Representative
